Five Green and Speckled Frogs

Kindergarten students sang, moved, listened and responded to music this quarter. They rocked, swayed or played to the beat of the drum, tapped their fingers to a steady pulse, danced, marched and clapped in response to the music.

Each of these activities require an ability to sense or respond to a steady pulse or beat. From a conceptual perspective they discovered that: Music may have an underlying beat. The beat is steady.
